Kelley Huff
Kelley Huff is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who is enjoying the second career path she has taken in life. After working as a marketing executive for two Fortune 500 companies for more than ten years, Kelley chose to pursue a degree in mental health counseling and to enter a field which was more holistically focused. Although Kelley had attained notable success in the corporate setting, a series of life events caused her to examine her work/life balance and to pursue a career offering greater flexibility for her family and home life.
Kelley earned her master's degree at Xavier University, where her decision to pursue a career in mental health counseling was continually affirmed. Kelley's conscientious nature and highly developed leadership skills became evident in the academic setting, and she was pleased to serve as president of the counseling program's honor society. Kelley completed her internship at IKRON in Downtown Cincinnati, where she gained valuable experience treating individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
Following graduation, Kelley obtained a counseling position with a large social services agency, and was soon recognized as possessing both clinical and leadership skills. Within three years of her hiring, she was promoted to clinical supervisor of a large regional office where she provided training and supervision for newcomers to the field as well as experienced clinicians. More recently, Kelley has served as a part-time assessor and counselor for one of the area's largest, hospital-based substance abuse treatment programs.
At Sycamore Counseling Associates, Kelley serves adults ages 21 and older, providing individual, couples, and group counseling. She effectively employs cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed CBT, motivational interviewing, and relaxation training. Kelley is grateful to be making a significant difference in the lives of her clients while maintaining the work/life balance she had sought at the outset of her career change.
